Elite skating, puck control, and decision-making at game speed for players aged 13-18 yrs
Service Description
The Kellian Hockey Elite Defense Skills Training Camp is geared towards players who want to improve on the different elements of skating, puck control and shooting with a higher, more advanced focus and tempo. Players will be on the ice for 2.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. We will start the day from 9-10am with advanced and technical skating development sessions. After a break for lunch, we will move to working on defense specific techniques and Hockey IQ from 11:30am - 1:00pm. These camps are meant for players aged 13-18 yrs. 12 yr old players will be considered with a recommendation from their current coach. The emphasis of this development summer camp is centered around advanced Defenseman skills and techniques such as deeper balance, high tempo inside/outside edge control, explosive stops and starts, powerful crossovers and of course, solid forwards and backwards skating. There will be a heavy influence on puck control with many of the exercises and challenges done with a puck so that players will improve their overall stick handling skill. We will also work on passing techniques and strategies, as well as 1 vs 1 skills. Who This Camp Is For? This camp is designed primarily for defensemen who want to think faster, defend with confidence, and become the player their teammates trust in every situation. But it's not just for defensemen. Forwards who want to become more complete hockey players often leave this camp with an entirely new understanding of the game. By learning how defensemen read pressure, retrieve pucks, manage gaps, and start breakouts, forwards become smarter forecheckers, create more turnovers, support the puck more effectively, and learn how to attack defenders by understanding exactly what they're trying to accomplish. Don't let the title fool you. Every summer, forwards leave this camp saying they understand the game in a completely different way. Ages 13 through 18. Players outside the recommended age range can be considered.
Cancellation Policy
Camp Cancellation Policy If you need to cancel your registration for a clinic or summer camp, please be aware of the following policy: ​-Cancellations made prior to 45 days before the start of the clinic or camp will be eligible for a refund of the tuition, with an administration fee of $50.00 per registration deducted. ​-Cancellations within 45 days of the start date of the clinic or camp will not be eligible for a refund. However, participants will receive a credit for a future program, with an administration fee of $100.00 deducted from the credit amount. Please note that this deduction covers the cost of ordered jerseys. ​-In the unfortunate event that a player cannot attend camp due to injury, we will issue a 100% credit towards a future clinic or camp. Written notification of cancellations is required. For cases of sickness and/or injuries, a doctor's note may be requested. ​-All refund processing will take place in August of the respective year. Please be aware that refunds will not be issued in the following situations: -Players who do not attend the program (no make-up dates). -Players who voluntarily withdraw from the program. -Players who are expelled from the program. -Players who cancel their registration after the program has commenced. ​We appreciate your understanding of our cancellation policy, which allows us to efficiently manage program logistics and resources.
