Service Description
Hockey is, in my opinion, one of the most fun and exciting games to play. But, it is also one of the most difficult to master. First... there is skating. Forwards, backwards, crossovers, stopping, edge control, glide turns, evasive maneuvers, desception, fluidity... speed. That's a lot. Then... Puck Handling. Doing all of the skating things above... now with a 4 and half foot long stick in your hands that has a curve only in one direction and a puck. There's giving and receving passes. And that's good passes. How do you deal with bad passes? Stick handling through players, keeping it away from defenders, tipping pucks out of the air, saucer passes, flipping the puck up, fakes... And what about shooting? Wrist shots, Snap Shots, Slap Shots, Back hand shots, Inside Leg shots, One-Timers, Knee-Down One-Timers, the Two-Touch shot. That's a lot too! And then... last but not least... the game it self. Very fast... 5 other people on the ice to play with... and not being able to communicate your plan and their plan at any given moment. And the rules... and all the unwritten rules of etiquette (that no one every really tells you about until someone gets mad). It's a lot. Let's start with this skills class where I help teach you the finer points of skating, puck handling and shooting. We will have a 1.5 hour long class together to work on skills and have a blast doing it!
